Utah Jazz blow past New Orleans for fourth straight win
NEW ORLEANS — Utah’s second contest of a three-game road trip finished like the first: with a blowout win.
The Jazz took a first quarter double-digit lead and clamped down defensively in the second half, beating New Orleans 127-94 on Wednesday night at Smoothie King Center.
Utah had seven players score in double figures and were effective from 3-point range. The Jazz made 14 of 32 3-pointers, compared to 5 of 24 for the Pelicans, while scoring a season-high 127 points.
Numbers
• Utah dominated in rebounding (a 48-37 edge) and committed only eight turnovers to 12 for New Orleans.
• The Jazz held Anthony Davis, New Orleans’ leading scorer at 27.9 points per game, to 12 points on 4 of 12 shooting.
• Utah, which led by nine at halftime, held the Pelicans to 16 points in the third quarter and outscored them 65-41 in the second half.

Utah: Joe Johnson came off the bench to lead the Jazz with 27 points, three rebounds and an assist. He hit 10 of 14 shots from the field and 6 of 8 from 3-point range.
New Orleans: Terrence Jones had 21 points and eight rebounds to lead the Pelicans.
